White Is President-Elect Designate of Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division
Emmanuel Sheppard & CondonAttorney Adam J. White is president-elect of the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Association. He was elected without opposition at a recent board meeting in St. Augustine and will be sworn in as president in June 2020. White is a partner at Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon, where he focuses on corporate litigation, including real estate, construction and employment law.

In addition, Harris is certified in ELDOA, an innovative form of exercise developed to improve blood flow through specific postures. Before stepping into her new position, Harris was a personal trainer and Pilates reformer at Holland Health & YMCA in Oklahoma. Foundations Medical Center announces new Physician Assistant
Foundations Medical Center is excited to announce the addition of a Physician Assistant Amy Drab. Alongside of Drs. Kyle and Mandy Chavers, Drab will work to address patients’ unique issues on their health and wellness journey. She is a mother, wife, physician assistant and previous associate professor of education at Kettering College of Medical Arts. She has more than 20 years of experience as a physician assistant.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Health Professions/Physician Assistant from Kettering College of Medical Arts and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska.  She has practiced in the specialties of family practice, OB/GYN, urgent care, and emergency medicine and is an IFM (Institute for Functional Medicine) certified practitioner. Most recently, Drab worked at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine, where she had an opportunity to collaborate with some of the most prominent thought leaders and practitioners in functional medicine evaluating and treating challenging functional medicine cases from around the world.

The Henderson’s Inaugural Art Wave Event Raises $7,768.20 
The HendersonOn Thursday, Jan. 10, The Henderson hosted Art Wave, an art exhibition dedicated to celebrating local artists who have art displayed throughout the resort. This sophisticated artist’s bazaar raised a total of $7,768.20 for the South Walton Artificial Wreath Association (SWARA). Art Wave gave event goers the unique opportunity to view live paintings and mingle with featured local artists, including Jeff Waldorff, John Maher, Justin Gaffrey, Lori Drew, Mary Hong, Melissa Mercer Brown, Russ Gilbert, and Tony Mennillo. The Crystal Ballroom of The Henderson was transformed into an underwater cosmopolitan atmosphere with various balloon installations from Mingle and fresh flowers, lounge seating, and décor. Fort Walton Beach Medical Center Receives the Highest Rating of Quality for Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
Fort Walton Beach Medical Center has again achieved a 3-star rating for Coronary Artery Bypass surgery. This is the highest category of quality awarded by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons for this procedure. In 2018, only 10-15 percent of hospitals in the nation received the “3 star” rating. In the current analysis of national data covering the period from January 2018 through December 2018, the Coronary Artery Bypass surgery performance at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center occupies a position in this highest quality tier, thereby receiving a STS 3 - star rating. 

1st Judicial Circuit Law Enforcement Association Helps CIC Children
Children In Crisis - Okaloosa County Sheriff's OfficeChildren In Crisis (CIC) President and CEO Ken Hair (left) receives a donation of $750 from Okaloosa County Deputy Sheriff Capt. Mark Raiche, representing and vice president of the 1st Judicial Circuit Law Enforcement Association.  The funds will be used to continue the CIC Child safety and educational programs for the 100 plus children that will live at the CIC Neighborhood this year.

Coastal Seniors of South Walton Partner with the Boys & Girls Club to Promote Healthy Activity 
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald CoastLife-long healthy activity is important to all ages. To help local residents, the Coastal Seniors of South Walton (CSSW) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast (BGCEC) have partnered to support this effort by starting recreational pickleball at the South Walton BGCEC Club. Coastal Seniors have donated three nets to support open recreation pickleball that takes place every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon in the South Walton Club’s gymnasium. The cost is $5 to participate. A membership card can be purchased for $30, which allows members to participate for just $2 per session. Paddles and balls are available for beginners to use, and instruction is available upon request.

The volunteers sorted donated clothing and food and provided landscaping services around the Children’s Neighborhood.

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is proud to announce the 21 local artists who were recently chosen to exhibit their original work in The Foster Gallery’s Spring Rotation, which runs Jan. 29 through April 22, in the Grand Boulevard Town Center location and Feb. 5 - April 29, in the Ruskin Place Artist Colony location. The selected artists for the Grand Boulevard location are Melody Bogle, Gayle Campbell, Donnelle Clark, Skip Deems, Sandra Horne, Linda Kernick, Jason Lindblad, Rosalyn O’Grady, William Polley, Mary Redmann, Kathleen Schumacher, Nikki Staks, Jenna Varney, Krista Vind, Judy Walton, and Heather Clements. The selected artists for the Ruskin Place Artist Colony locations are Melody Bogle, Marscha Cavaliere, Donnelle Clark, Patrick Connolly, Skip Deems, Victoria Guennewig, Marian Pacsuta, Mary Redmann, Nikki Staks, Jenna Varney, Krista Vind, Judy Walton, Christon Anderson and Heather Clements. Chosen by jury, all artists are members of the Cultural Arts Alliance and each will exhibit and sell their work in their own section of the gallery.  

Boys & Girls Clubs Search for Participants in Mac & Cheese Festival
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald CoastThe Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast ( BGCEC) is actively searching for local restaurants and businesses to participate in a new fundraiser, the area’s first-ever Mac & Cheese Festival, which is set for May 19 at the Destin Commons. Featuring gourmet, chef-inspired twists on the South’s favorite comfort food, this family-friendly event will pit our area’s favorite restaurants against each other in a competition to see who has the best mac on the Emerald Coast. Restaurants competing have a chance to win three awards, People’s Choice, Kids’ Choice and Judges’ Pick. In addition to searching for restaurants to compete, the BGCEC encourages businesses outside of the restaurant industry to participate by becoming a sponsor.
